“How’d it go?” Eric asked, hanging up Chandi’s jacket.

“Actually got off easy; a dozen egg-peltings, eight window soapings, half a dozen missed curfews, two short-lived scuffles and one attempt of vandalism.” Chandi listed, removing his holster. “Somewhat better than last year; but patrols still out.”

“All kiddies home safe and sound?”

“If that’s what you consider being dragged home by a pissed-off parent, then yes.”

“One more Halloween under your belt.”

“I’ve got more than that under there.” Chandi smirked suggestively at his partner.

Eric’s guffaw of laughter was proof enough the message had been received loud and clear.
